Kasargod: ISIS propagation - Two women from Kannur handed over to NIA

Kasargod, Aug 21: The two women arrested by a National Investigation Agency (NIA) team from Kannur on the allegation of canvassing for ISIS have been remanded to NIA custody for seven days. They were produced in the NIA court in New Delhi. Shifa Haris and Misha Siddique from Kannur had been arrested. NIA said that the two were engaged in propagating the principles of ISIS and having close links with terrorist organizations through social websites. Misha had undertaken a tour of Syria. She also had visited Tehran, Iran. NIA has claimed that Shifa had planned to visit Kashmir as part of a team of seven Malayalis for undertaking terrorist activities. Misha and Shifa had been arrested from their houses located within the limits of Kannur police. They were produced in Kannur magistrate court after which NIA had taken their custody. The said seven Malayalis reportedly used social websites like telegram and Instagram to publicize ISIS ideology and policies.
