Karwar: RPF rescues two minor girls who ran away from home after torture by their stepmother

Karwar 30 March 2018: Two minor girls who reportedly who ran away from their home due to the torture and abuse by their stepmother, were rescued by the Railway Protection Force officials at Karwar on Wednesday late night.
The two minor girls had boarded Mangalore Express from Mumbai. and was reported to the Railway Police by an alert passenger, after which the RPF officials acting on the tip off rescued the girls, later the girls were handed over to Child Welfare Committee members after being rescued.
The girls said that they boarded the train from Panvel.
Sources says that a lady who noticed the two kids without the company of any adult, tried to take them away with her. An alert passenger who noticed the lady's attempt of taking the girls with them informed the Railway Police who swung into action to rescue the kids.
The Karwar RPF then contacted their father Abdul Raheem, who informed that he had lodged a missing complaint with Shivajinagar police on Tuesday.
