Karwar: Naval officers lend support in renovating Government Primary School

Karwar 30 March 2018: The officers of the Indian Navy stationed at Kadamba Naval Base Karwar, have helped the Chittakula Devabhaga Government Primary School renovate under their 'Social outreach Program' and was inaugurated on 28 March.
Every year the naval officers give back to the society through their social outreach programme, and this year the officers rendered their service for transforming the government school into a model school. The officers, staff and parents of the school children donated Rs 2.5 Lakh to refurbish the roof, compound wall, lighting system, painting, library and water tank of the school.
Inaugurating the overhauled school on March 28, Admiral K G Kumar said that "The decision to renovate the school into a model school was taken during the blood donation camp organised in the school earlier. The renovation started on January 22 and in just two months renovation has been completed by the untiring efforts of the naval officers and the school staff. This is a matter of pride and delight to us", he added.
The new facilities and equipment surely benefit the 133 children currently studying at the school.
District Public Education Department Deputy Director P K Prakash, naval officers and school staff were present at the inauguration event.
