Karwar man shot dead in Afghanistan by militants

Karwar/Afghanistan 4 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) In an unfortunate turn of event, a 39-year-old man from Karwar was shot dead along with 2 other individuals of foreign-origin by the militants in Kabul of Afghanistan on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Patson Rodrigues (39) a resident of Karwar who was working as chef in kabul's leading food company.
According to the reports, the militants had abducted 64-year-old Malaysian, 37-year-old Macedonian and 39-year-old Indian citizen Patson Rodrigues at Pul-e-Charkhi Kabul in the early hours of Thursday when they were heading towards their work place. However, their bodies were later recovered in a car parked at Mussahi District.
According to the sources, the three were working as cook in an international food service company called Sodexo located in Kabul.
The MLA of Karwar Smt.Roopali Naik condoled the incident and assured the family that she will get in touch with the External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj through Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde to bring back the mortal remains on an Aeroplane to Karwar.
