Karwar: Frustrated with Taluka Administration, woman tries to immolate self

Karwar 21 April 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Frustrated with Taluka administration, a woman tried to kill herself  when the administration started evacuating the temporary huts near the beach side of Matsalaya at Karwar here on Friday 20^th April 2018.

The Victim Kusuma Kudtalkar (45) tried to kill herself by setting herself onto fire, when Taluka administration officials tried to clear off the huts.

The woman was soon rushed to a local hospital where she was treated for her burns and was later discharged.

However, people in the locality have accused the district administration of killing their livelihood on the name of development of tourism and  constructing large permanent structures causing severe damage to environment in the area.

Under the direction of Deputy Collector A team led by Tashildar, Muncipal Authority, Revenue officials and staffs took part in this operation.
