Karwar: DC SS Nakul swings into action after watching viral video of child abuse

Karwar: An inhumane act of brutal assault on a minor girl was recorded on camera, which pictured one of the family member manhandling the girl child.
As soon as the nerve wrecking video became viral, Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul plunged into action to save the six-year-old girl. The DC immediately sent officials to trace the location and rescue the child on confirmation from the police that the incident had occurred at Kajubhag area of Karwar taluk.
It is said that when the police rushed to the spot, the accused woman and some of the others were absconding. DC Nakul then said that the affected minor will be handed over to the Women and Child Welfare Department and that the district administration will take up the responsibility for her protection.
The recorded incident, which was viral from Tuesday, was not clear on where it occurred, but as it became clear that it occurred in Karwar, the district administration and police quickly stepped into action and began the investigation.
