Karwar: DC issues notice to officer, suspends driver for dereliction of duty

Karwar: Deputy commissioner (DC) of Karwar District S S Nakul has issued a notice to a government official and also suspended a driver of his vehicle on charges of dereliction of duty here on Wednesday.

Nakul had directed the District Backward Class Welfare Officer Basavaraj Badigera, to release his vehicle to provide security to the vehicles carrying EVM machines from Gujarat for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. But the officer defied the order and left for another place along with the driver on his official vehicle.

Ired over this, Nakul issued a notice to the official asking his clarification on the matter and meanwhile suspended the driver for dereliction of duty .
