Karwar: DC distributes voter ids to young voters during scuba diving in deep sea

Karwar 17 March 2018: The district administration for the first time in the country took a innovative step of distributing voter identity cards to the millennium in the deep sea to attract youth voters here on Saturday.

With the instructions of the Election Commission the district administration held this unique program to attract young voters to cast their votes in the upcoming assembly elections in the state, this year as well as Lok Sabha elections which is scheduled next year. Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul distributed 6 Elector's Photo identity cards by scuba diving near the lighthouse on this occasion.

Zilla Panchayath Chief Executive Officer L Chandrasekhar Nayak and others were present on the occasion.
