Karnataka SSLC Examinations to begin on 23 March; Exam schedules out

Bhatkal 27 Oct 2017: The Department of Primary and Secondary Education on Thursday announced the tentative schedule for SSLC and PUC II board exams for 2017-18 batch.
SSLC Exams which usually begins in the first week of April has been advanced by a week and is now scheduled to begin on March 23 to avoid collision with the assembly elections in the state that sis scheduled for first week of May. Owing to the elections the PU Examinations too will see fewer gaps between subjects, so much so that the PU board exams will be conducted within a period of 16, which otherwise is usually a month's affair.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait said the results of both the exams would be announced by April-end. This time around, teachers from private schools and colleges would be roped in for evaluation so that the process is completed quickly.
Department of Pre-University Education has set the timetable of exams between March 1 to March 16 2018, while the Karnataka Secondary Education and Examination Board has set the dates for SSLC exams from March 23 to April 24 2018.
A total of 9.6 lakh SSLC students from across the state will appear for the exam and there would be around 60,000 evaluators. While PU Exams will see a total of seven lakh students appear for the exam, and around 18,000 to 20,000 lecturers will evaluate the answer scripts.
