Karwar: Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has announced a proposal to establish a traffic police station in Bhatkal to tackle increasing road accidents and manage traffic issues along the coastal national highway.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with senior officials at the Uttara Kannada District Superintendent of Police (SP) Office, he emphasized the need for better traffic management in the district. He noted that 589 people have lost their lives and over 10,000 have been injured in road accidents in the last two and a half years.
