  • Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar claimed that modern Indian women want to stay single and are unwilling to give birth even after marriage while speaking at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurological Sciences, Bengaluru.
At the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurological Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said that modern Indian women want to stay single and are unwilling to give birth even after marriage. Women these days desire children by surrogacy, he said. Sudhakar also lamented the "western influence" on Indian society and how people don’t want their parents to live with them anymore.
“Today, we don't want our parents to live with us. A lot of modern women in India want to stay single. Even if they get married, don't want to give birth. Paradigm shift in our thinking, it's not good,” he said on the World Mental Health Day at NIMHANS on October 10.
"Unfortunately, today we are going in a western way. We don't want our parents to live with us, forget about grandparents being with us," he added.
