Karnataka HC grants one week's time to Railways on Bengaluru-Mangaluru train issue

BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court on Mondya granted one week's time to the Railways to respond to a PIL filed by Railway Yatri Sangha, Udupi. A division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukhrjee noted that it is not proper to summon General manager or other officials in such matters and asked the advocate to seek instruction by next week. The petitioner has claimed that in the aid term Railway budgetary speech for the year 2014, the Railway Minister had announced introduction of a pair of trains bearing Nos.16515 and 16516 on the route of Bengaluru to Mangaluru and the same is not implemented so far. -TOI
