Karnataka HC grants advance bail to Karwar MLA

BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court has granted anticipatory bail to Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sail in relation to six cases registered against him over allegations of transportation of illegal ore from Belekeri port. The sitting Congress MLA,has been asked to execute a personal bond of Rs 5 lakh and sureties for a like sum and surrender before the concerned court by June 30 . He was also told to attend the CBI Special Court without fail and cooperate with investigating officers before framing of charges. The CBI, which had opposed the grant of bail, claimed that Sail had refused to accept the summons and hence trial could not be commenced. -TOI
