Bengaluru, Jun 15: The Karnataka state government has announced an increase in the cess on petrol and diesel, leading to a rise in fuel prices. The price of petrol will increase by an average of Rs 3 per litre and diesel by Rs 3.5 per litre.

This decision has been made to manage the financial implications of the government's guarantee schemes.

The new rates, effective immediately from Saturday, June 15, will impact consumers across the state.
