Karnataka cabinet approves international cricket stadium at Karwar; 25 crore project to be completed in 18 months

Karwar 6 December 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Karnataka cabinet led by Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday, December 5, approved the Rs. 25 crore project to construct international cricket stadium at Karwar. The idea that was initially pitched by the ex-Karwar MLA Sathish Sail during his tenure as the MLA of the constituency, will finally be turned into reality. Earlier this year, the KSCA had agreed and allotted 11 acres of land on lease for a period of 30 years, to construct international cricket stadium. However, during a state cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the project was approved. Speaking to Bhatkallys.com over phone call, ex-MLA Sathish Sail expressed his happiness over the development and thanked CM Kumaraswamy and district in-charge minister of Uttara Kannada RV Deshpande for his constant support for the project. "I am very happy to see this project becoming a reality, I always had this dream to get a cricket stadium here in Karwar, I thank CM Kumaraswamy and RV Deshpande for their support, if everything works accordingly this project should finish in one and a half year" Sail added. The Karnataka Cricket Board will undertake the construction work at Chuttakula locality of Karwar on a sanctioned 11 acres of land. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
