Karnataka Band on 9th Sept, No effects in Bhatkal

Bhatkallys News Service Bhatkal 09 Sept 2016: Following orders from Supreme Court Karnataka released Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu. The whole development was followed by protests by few Pro-Kannada Organizations, and Sept 9 2016 was called bandh by several organizations causing interruption in day to day lives of common man. However in Bhatkal one could not see much of the effect of the bandh as the local businesses were on as usual. But towards the end of the day when members of Pro-Kannada organizations did not find Assistant Commissioner at his office when they wanted to present an memorandum to him, triggered a little hard time for Police as the members started protesting by staging Dharna on the roads causing traffic interruption on NH66 Bhatkal. ASP Anoop Kumar reached the spot and just when things were heading to an out of control situation, he ordered and arrested few members of Pro-Kannada who were later released. Protestors later presented Memorandum to ASP Anoop Kumar and DC. Ramesh Naik, Shridhar Naik, Pandurang Naik, Krishna Naik, Sudhakar Naik, Ishwar Naik, Kishore Shet, Raju Naik were among others present.
