Kannada Rajyostava celebrated in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 1 November 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal Taluka Administration, Taluka Panchayat, Town Municipal council and Jali Patan Panchayath jointly organised the 63rd Kannada Rajyotsava at Taluka stadium here at Nawayath colony Bhatkal here on Thursday. The celebration was flagged-off by offering prayers to Hindu Godess Bhuvaneshwari Devi at the New English School Bhatkal by MLA Sunil Naik and a procession was taken out towards Taluka stadium. Bhatkal-Honnavar MLA Sunil Naik, who presided the event spoke on the occasion and said that “Karnataka state is a land of various culture and tradition. Yet people live here as one by speaking Kannada”. Another speaker at the event Gangadhar Naik, President of Taluka Kannada Sahitya Parishat spoke about the importance of Kannada land, language, culture and literature. Students of various schools also presented cultural events during the event. Several people including Shri.Veerendra Shanbagh, Pallavi Nayak, Gajanan Hebbar, Keshav Acharya, Narayana Naik and others were felicitated for their efforts and services in the field of Kannada language and literature during the event. On this occasion Bhatkal Tahsildar VN Bhadkar, BEO MR Munji, Dy.SP Valentine D’souza, Jali Patan Panchayat President Adam Panambur, students and teachers of various schools and colleges and others were present during the program.
