Journalists in Bhatkal protest over assault on Janashir News' Journalist in Bengaluru

April 22, 2016 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Journalists in Bhatal protested in front of the Assistant Commissioner's office in Bhatkal against the alleged assault on a television journalist during the garment workers protests on Tuesday and demanded strict action against the officials involved. On Tuesday, as garment workers took to the streets protesting the central government’s change of rules on withdrawal of PF, police allegedly assaulted a journalist with Janashri News. On this occasion, journalists of Bhatkal Taluka Working Journalists Association submitted a memorandum to Assistant Commissioner of Bhatkal demanding justice to the victimized journalist. Speaking to media persons at the occasion, the association's President Radhakrishna Bhat openly condemned the assault on the journalist by police officials and demanded action against the erring officials. All the members and workers of Bhatkal Taluka Working Journalists Association were present at the occasion.   - ARF
