Journalist attacked for exposing drugs racket

Mangalore - A journalist was attacked by a group of ten unidentified men, near Kulai bus stand on the outskirts of the city. According to the sources, Karavali Ale reporter, Harish Putran was attacked at about 8.30 pm on his way home after finishing his duty. The miscreants waylaid him and assaulted him. As a result, Putran sustained injuries on his head. He was rushed to a hospital in Surathkal. It may be noted that, Karavali Ale newspaper has published a story exposing Hindu Jana Jagrathi Vedike leaders in drug dealings. The article said that one of the notorious drug peddler, Keshav was a close aide of Vedike leader Sathyajith Surathkal. It is said that Puthran was attacked to avenge this article.
