Journalism workshop by Tanzeem begins on Saturday; full list of guests revealed here

Bhatkal 12 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The much anticipated five days journalism workshop organised by local socio-political organisation Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal will kick start on Saturday at the Tanzeem office with a formal inaugural ceremony at 9.00 am here in the presence of both the Qazis of Bhatkal.
Followed by the inaugural ceremony, a five day workshop will go underway for the registered participants of the workshop. The workshop will begin at 9.30 am for five days starting 13 October, and will conclude at 2.15 pm with two breaks in between. The sessions will be followed by lunch for the participants.
The preparations for the workshop were seen in full-swing on the eve of the workshop, with the guests and resource persons also arriving in the town.
The organiser also revealed the list of guest and resource persons who will be part of the workshop and will address the students on topics like Introduction of Mass Communication and Journalism, Freelance Journalism as a career, Language Journalism, Basic Mass media skills, profession broadcasting Radio and Television, opportunities in Digital Media, developing news stories, photo journalism, reach and influence of news portals among others.
Prominent university professors, Journalism HODs, Journalist have been called in for making presentations on the topics. The list includes personalities like Sibanthi Padmanabha, HOD Journalism, University college Tumkur, Dr. K Putturaju, former Dean, Journalism and Mass Communication, Bangalore University, NAM Ismail, Asst editor Prajavani Bangalore, M. Raghuram, Senior Journalist, Contributor to The Hindu Mangalore, Ravi Posavanike, Photo Journalist Times of India Mangalore among others.
Limited seats of only 50 interested students were up for the grab, but according to the organisers they had received applications in excess of the available seats.
The workshop gives an opportunity for the local youngsters to find motivation in taking up journalism as a career as it will elaborately explain its importance, opportunities it offers and other factors.
