Joint peace meet held at Bhatkal ahead of Ayodhya verdict

Bhatkal - Joint peace meet was held at circuit house today ahead of Ayodhya title suit verdict which is scheduled to be pronounced at 3:30 pm tomorrow (September 30). Leaders of Hindu and Muslim communities have participated in the meet. Both community leaders have appealed to maintain peace and harmony in the town. The meeting was presided over by Assistant Commissioner Dr. Anuradha.
Speaking on the occasion Seva Vahini President, Mr Surendra Shanbhag said, whatever will be the outcome of the verdict, we should respect the court ruling and we should note that, this judgment is not the final one, both parties can further approach Supreme Court against this verdict. He further said, we should show that Bhatkal people are always peace loving people and we should be very careful against anti-social elements who want to disrupt peaceful atmosphere of the town.
Bhatkal TMC President, Mr Inayatullah Shabandri while addressing the meet said, we should keep vigil on anti-social elements. He also said that our colony elders should come forward and play an active role in keeping anti-social elements at bay.
Several other leaders including Tanzeem Secretary Mr Abdul Raqeeb MJ, Rickshaw Union President Mr Nagraj Hegde and Tanzeem President Mr. Bardul Hasan Muallim have also interacted on this occasion and appealed for peace and harmony in the town.
On this occasion apart from above mentioned Tanzeem General Secretary Mr. S. M. Syed Parvez, Rickshaw Union Secretary Mr Venkatesh Naik, Social worker Mr. Syed Hasan Barmawar and several others were present.
