Jewellery Shop burgled in Kumta

Kumta - 25 Nov 2011: Thieves made away with gold silver and copper ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh from a jewellery shop in Heravatta near Kumta on Tuesday earlymorning. According to the sources, thieves gained entry into the shop belonging to one Sadananda Mahableshwar Shet of Heravatta by breaking open the lock.

In another incident, thieves attempted to steal valuables from Devakrishnappa temple near Kumta.

Additional SP Mr Subhash Gudimane, Karwar and Bhatkal DySp Mr M Naryan visited the spot. A dog squad also visited the spot and assisting in the search operation. A case has beenregistered in Kumta police station.

It may be recalled that, just a month ago, two neighbouring houses in the same area had been burgled.
