Jeddah: Consulate General of India celebrates Independence day by inaugurating Khadi exhibition

Jeddah 15 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) To mark the 72nd Independence of India, Consulate General of India, Jeddah on Wednesday organised a flag hoisting ceremony at its office here in Jeddah. Consul General Noor Rahman Sheikh hoisted the tricolor and read out the President's address to the nation, followed by students of International Indian School, Jeddah performed and presented patriotic songs on the occasion. The event was attended by over 1000 Indian nationals, NRIs and Saudi nationals. An exclusive exhibition of Khadi products at the Chancery premises was also inaugurated after the independence day celebration as a tribute to the father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi, with a presentation on Khadi product also being a part of the event. One of the Saudi national received aloud applause when he sung one of the most liked Bhajan of Mahatma Gandhi “Vaisnava Jana to, tene kahiye je peed paraayi jaane re”.
