Jeddah Bhatkal Cricket Association hosts picnic

Jeddah - 19 Sep 2011: Bhatkal Cricket Association Jeddah recently hosted a spectacular picnic here at a beach resort in Jeddah.

The program was started with the recitation of verses from holy Quran by Abdul Bari. Mr Ubaidullah Askeri presented introduction of the Association. Later an entertainment and cultural program began which was compered by Mr Raihan Kobatte. This session involved several events like, One minute show, Tolmol ke bol, Lemon spoon, Volley ball, Cricket, Swimming etc. Separate events for ladies were also held including cooking competition in which around 40 families took part and prepared few mouth-watering special dishes like Tariapoli, Shopa pana pudding, Goran etc.

The first prize in Tariapoli was won by Faisal Damudi's family, Ashfaque Aliakbara family won Shopa pana pudding competition while Muzakkir Askeri's family clinched first place in Goran cooking. A micro-wave oven was gifted to above three winning families.

It may be recalled that, Jeddah Bhatkal Cricket Association was launched just two years back with the support of Bhatkallis residing in Jeddah. Since then it has hosted three successful family entertainment events.

Tasty foods were served during the event and Namaz-e-Janazah of late Abdul Salam Damda (Medical) was also offered.
