Javadekar, Piyush Goyal review BJP state unit’s poll preparations

Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, who have been appointed election in-charge and co in-charge respectively for the Bharatiya Janata Party Karnataka unit, on Monday reviewed the party’s poll preparations in the State. Both the Union Ministers visited the State for the first time after assuming the new responsibility. They began their task by holding a meeting of the party State unit’s core committee, which is the highest decision-making body, and later also presided over a meeting of the party’s political affairs committee comprising senior leaders. BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa and senior leaders including Union Minister Ananth Kumar took part in the meetings. It is being said that they are here to monitor the progress of implementation of some of the measures suggested by Party National President Amit Shah, including that of strengthening booth-level committees. Both the ministers were also felicitated by the party State unit on the occasion.
