New Delhi, March 12: Noted Parliamentarian from CPM Mohammad Salim on Saturday slammed the Narendra Modi-led Union government and Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh for specifically targeting the people from minority communities. Salim took on the Hindu outfits for putting sedition charges on innocents and questioned the forces on their take on Nathuram Godse and Savarkar. Addressing the National Solidarity Conference for Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Saturday, Salim compared the current situation with emergency and said all the members attending the event will not let the divisive forces to succeed. Raising the issue of Jawaharlal Nehru University student Umar Khalid and Anirban, Salim questioned government’s intention of what it wants from the youth of India. Salim literally bashed the right wing ‘nationalists’ and took a  jibe by saying ” You pray ram ram and you endorse Nathuram”. Salim in his 5-10 minutes of speech broadcast on news channel alleged that the right wing supporters should learn from history. Speaking with more aggressive tone than he was in Parliament during this Budget Session, Salim called RSS the supporters of Nathuram Godse and said, “Hum Nafrat ki aard me mulq ko barbarb nahi hone denge (We won’t let the country destroy in the name of hatred). In a fraction of emotion, he read out some lines from famous Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz and said, “Bol, ke lab azaad hai tere; Bol, zabaan ab tak teri hai; Tera sutwan jism hai tera – Bol, ke jaan ab tak teri hai……(Speak, for your two lips are free; Speak, when your tongue is still your own; This straight body still is yours — Speak, your life is still your own…) ” . Speaking at the another Parliamentarian Ghulam Nabi Azad too expressed his anguish and slammed the fractions of Hindu outfits for trying to divide the country in the name of religion and one directional approach of nationalism. Few days earlier, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind president Maulana Arshad Madani had questioned the silence of Prime Minister and said that there are “attempts to transform the country into a Hindu Rashtra”. The organisation had earlier announced that it’s plan to organise the conference to be held on Saturday. Source India.com 20160312082200   20160312082200 (1)   20160312082200 (2)
