Bhatkal - 30 June 2011: All 40 members of Jali Panchayat today held protest infront of their office demanding inclusion of 4,400 names which have been left out from the list and allotment of more funds to Jali Panchayat, Uttara Kannada's largest Gram Panchayat in terms of population. It may be noted that around 4,400 people from Venkatapur area which now comes under Jali Panchayat limits have not yet been included in the list and because of this discrepancy; Jali Panchayat is not getting adequate development funds.

On this occasion the protesters shouted slogans and later submitted memorandum to the Govt through Tahsildar. They demanded immediate inclusion of 4,400 names and also demanded partition of Jali Gram Panchayat into 2 parts.
