Jail inmates extort Rs 15 lac from Bank Manager inside District Jail of Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A man inside the jail was tortured physically and mentally by a gang of 6 undertrials inside the DK District jail and was forced extorted Rs. 15 lac from his parents.
The accused were identified as Tilak, Mithun, Shivu, Nikhil, Raju and Charan.
The Victim has been identified to be Sirin Madhusudan, who was jailed in connection to the illegal diversion of Rs 55 Crore belonging to Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Ltd (KRIDL), when he was the Branch Manager of Indian Overseas Bank.
It is gathered that, Sirin was tortured by a gang to give them money, and was physically and mentally pressurized.
Initially, Sirin denied to pay them any money, But through frequent ragging they forced him to call his parents and was successful in extorting 15 lac rupees from him.
A case was then registered at Barke Police Station based on a complaint by Sirin's Parents.
