Jaali panchayat residents reject patan panchayat offer, opt to remain with gram panchayat

Bhatkal: In a move towards promoting the three talukas of Karwar, viz. Bhatkal, Kumta and Honnavar, District Urban Development had offered to promote gram panchayats in these talukas to patan panchayat. However, residents of Jaali panchayat area have rejected the offer.
In a meeting held at Gramsabha, residents of Jaali panchayat have rejected the offer and have opted instead to remain with gram panchayat itself. On this occasion, the Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) informed about the facilities that will be provided on promotion to patan panchayat.
