Jaali panchayat elections: 10 candidates elected without contest

April 19, 2016 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: At least 10 candidates have been elected unopposed in the Jaali pattan panchayat elections while elections will be held for the remaining 10 seats on April 24, 2016 for which 24 candidates are in fray. Elections will be held in wards - 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 17, 19 - while candidates elected without contest are from wards - 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, and 29. Counting of votes to will be taken up on April 27, 2016. It may be noted that Jaali panchayat was recently upgraded to pattan panchayat from zilla panchayat and this is its first election after the up-gradation.
