International flights to, from Mangaluru cancelled, diverted; Airport issues advisory

Mangaluru, 28 February,2026:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) Several international flights operating to and from Mangaluru International Airport were cancelled or diverted on Saturday after Iranian airspace was closed amid rising tensions in West Asia following joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran.
Airport officials said flight IX 831 (IXE–DXB) (Mangaluru-Dubai) returned to the bay shortly after departure once airspace restrictions were confirmed. Flight IX 821 (IXE–DOH) (Mangaluru-Doha) was diverted to Mumbai for the same reason. Flight 6E 1467 operating on the IXE–DXB (Mangaluru-Dubai) route was cancelled.
Officials further confirmed that flight IX 831 was formally declared cancelled at around 3 pm. A total of 174 passengers and six crew members were deplaned at the airport.
The following flights were cancelled on Saturday due to international airspace closures:
• IX822 DOH-IXE (Doha-Mangaluru) 8:45 PM arrival
• IX832 DXB-IXE (Dubai-Mangaluru) 10:10 PM arrival
• IX831 IXE-DXB (Mangaluru-Dubai) 01:20 PM departure
• IX847 IXE-DMM (Mangaluru-Dammam) 11:10 PM departure
• IX813 IXE-DXB (Mangaluru-Dubai) 8:15 PM departure
• IX851 IXE-KWI (Mangaluru-Kuwait) 10:05 PM departure
• IX815 IXE-AUH (Mangaluru-Abudabhi) 11:20 PM departure
• 6E1467 IXE-DXB (Mangaluru-Dubai) 7:15 PM departure
In a statement, airport authorities urged passengers to stay in contact with their respective airlines for real-time updates, as international airspace restrictions continue to change.
Meanwhile, according to the Associated Press, the United Arab Emirates closed its airspace on Saturday following the strikes. Reports also said Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain took similar steps after explosions were reported in Iran.
