Indian Coast Guard rescues 25 fishermen as their ship was on the verge of sinking mid-sea near Karwar coast

Karwar 21 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Thursday rescued a fishing boat along with 25 men on-board, after their ship was reportedly damaged and had started to flood at about 10 Nautical miles away from the Karwar coast.
According to the reports, acting on the information provided by a local fisherman, the ICG interceptor boats turned their way towards Loliem-Polem along the Karnataka-Goa Border which is about 10 Nautical miles away from Karwar coast to rescue the ‘Yashwardhan’ boat which got damaged and had started to flood in.
Initally, the ICG rescued 17 crew members of the boat and brought them back to the shore. However, Five members of ICG stood back with the remaining members in the damaged boat and later using another fishing boat named ‘Amrutha’ they towed the damaged boat to Karwar harbour around 4:45 pm.
