India wants better relations with Pakistan and China: Rajnath Singh

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Jammu on Monday on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Singh is visiting the state to take stock of the situation on the international border in the Jammu region and the line of actual control between India and China in the Ladakh region of the state. The minister landed at the technical area of Jammu airport in a BSF plane around 9 am. Besides senior officers of the home ministry, Singh is accompanied by Director General BSF D.K. Pathak and DG ITBP Krishna Chaudhary. Immediately after his arrival here, Singh left for the Samba border district where he will inaugurate an ITPB complex and also take a first hand account of the latest situation on the international border. "India wants better relations with Pakistan and China. We have always extended a hand of friendship, Pakistan should reciprocate and take steps to improve the relationship," said Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Singh will fly to Leh town in the afternoon to review the situation on the line of actual control. He will visit border posts in Chumar in eastern Ladakh where Indian and Chinese troops had eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation in sub-zero temperatures in September 2014. It will be followed by a visit to the police memorial in Hot Spring and ITBP posts in Thakung and Chushul, official sources said.   India Today
