India Draw Practice Game Against WICB President's XI

Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra clinched four wickets as the West Indies Cricket Board President's XI ended at 281/7 in the two-day warm-up game.

The two-day warm-up game between India and the West Indies Cricket Board President's XI ended in a stalemate after the latter finished at 281/7 at Warner Park in Basseterre. While the first day saw the visitors end at 258/6 declared, the second day only saw WICB President's XI bat with Shai Hope (118 not out) scoring an unbeaten century, which included 15 boundaries. Opening batsman Rajendra Chandrika hit a valuable 69 and with Hope put up a 122-run second-wicket partnership. Though Indian pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami all picked up a wicket each, the turnaround really came when India skipper Virat Kohli introduced leg-spinner Amit Mishra. Mishra went on to clinch four wickets in 27 overs, giving away only 67 runs. The home team might have been bowled out but for Jomel Warrican, who scored an unbeaten half-century, helping the President's XI go past the Indian total. The two teams will play another warm-up game at the same venue from July 14 to 16 before India take on the West Indies in the first Test to be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, from July 21 to 25.
