Inayatullah Shabandri gets highest votes to make his inclusion automatic in executive body of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem ahead of elections

Bhatkal 13 January 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Counting of votes for the automatic election of ten executive members into the body for next term of local socio-political organisation Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, took place on January 12, Saturday night wherein Vice President Inayatullah Shabandri secured highest number of votes by the existing executive members. The counting took place at the Tanzeem office here. According to the bye-laws of the Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, ten members of the existing executive body shall be re-elected for the next term through ballot paper voting system by the executive body. The conditions however restrict the out-stationed executive members from contesting the re-election, while the local executive members who have attended 40% or more meetings during the term are eligible to contest. The eleven members included through the recommendations of mosques from across the town are also barred from contesting this re-elections. Speaking to Bhatkallys.com Siddique DF, media co-ordinator of Tanzeem, who himself was re-elected in the elections and subsequently elected to be the assistant election commissioner on Sunday morning said "Tanzeem right now has 129 executive members, of which 62 are stationed in Bhatkal. 11 of them are locals of Bhatkal who are eligible to contest, again 11 of them had not attended the number of meetings required to contest this re-election. So 40 candidates were in fray of whom 40 were to be elected". "We submitted ballot papers to all the 129 executive members and asked them to submit it back with 10 votes each by January 12, evening" Siddique further added. Inayathullah Shabandri, received highest votes (72) followed by Lanka Imran (69 votes) and Abdul Aleem Qasmi (63 votes). Other members elected included Abdul Raqeeb MJ (63 votes), Malpa Shafi (63), Ambari Azeem (61) DF Siddique (59) Misbah Chadubapa (58) Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin (58) and SM Abul Qasim (56). SM Syed Azeem Ambari, was elected the Chief Election Commissioner while Ahmed Chadubapa Musba and DF Siddique were elected his deputy. The elections of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem will be conducted on March 10. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
