Inayatullah Shabandri gearing up for JDS ticket

Bhatkal 27 Dec 2017: Uttar Kannada District JDS President Inayathullah Shabandri on Tuesday said the party has given him a nod to prepare for the upcoming assembly elections next year. Inayatullah’s participation was allegedly confirmed in a video broadcast by Kannada channel 'Praja TV' - naming candidates that will be fielded by JDS. The video was broadcast on Tuesday December 27 and it allegedly confirms Inayathullah Shabandri as a confirmed candidate from Bhatkal constituency. Bhatkallys.com spoke to Inayathullah Shabandri on the issue and he said "Yes, the party has given me the green signal and asked me to prepare for the elections. It is not official but an announcement can be expected in the next few months. I am personally assured of the ticket by party high command and I have started my preparations". He further added "HD Kumaraswamy will also visit Bhatkal in January and will also personally supervise my preparations as the party is aiming for absolute majority in the elections". Meanwhile Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem is also expected to soon begin making its strategies for selecting the candidate it will support in the assembly elections. It will be interesting to see if Inayathullah Shabandri can once again convince the political minds of Tanzeem and can book his berth for the elections from both ends. Although he has denied contesting the elections if he cannot get Tanzeem's support, it can only be left for time to explain if he would really quit the election race - if support by Tanzeem is not assured.
