Dubai, May 26, 2011 (Bhatkallys News): Saluting the spirit and ethos of servitude, the life of Muallim Badr was remembered at a condolence meet hosted in Dubai. With simplicity on his side, Badr created a remarkable footprint for the people of Bhatkal to follow as his works withdesolatefamilies, orphans and needy people will always be valued.

S.M. Syed Khalil recalled his memories with Badr during the tazhiati Jalsa hosted by BMJ Dubai.

"He was a fond friend who would always support people in times of need. This is a testing time for our community and I strongly feel we should forget our differences and groom new leaders," said Khalil.

S.J. Syed Hashim said, "Muallim Badr will always be remembered as a champion of the poor. Flood relief, earthquake relief, re-construction works and the support for poor families were some of the many areas where he served. He was supportive of every effort aimed at lifting the community. There is a deep sense of loss and I, on behalf of the Khaleej Council present my condolence."

Another friend of Badr said, "We are here to mourn the loss of a great soul who spent most of his life in community service. He was an example of servitude, self-belief and patience. During the Bijapur relief operations, dozens of homes were flattened in mud slides and I remember Muallim Badr walking through slush to reach the victims and help them."

He frequented Karwarto meet police officials and referred distress cases at his personal behest.

another speaker said, "The family tree of Bhatkalli politics passed away with the death of Muallim Badr. It is our time to water the seeds of new leadership and grow a new political tree which will lead the way for our community. Reformists in education, politics, empowerment and community development are much needed."
