In a unique protest Government Employees in Bhatkal donate blood to oppose central government's decision on NPS

Bhatkal 4 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Expressing discontent over central government’s decision to withdraw support for National Pension Scheme, government workers in Bhatkal set out to protest in a unique manner - by donating blood.

With a slogan of "We will give our blood, but we won't leave our pension" THO Murthy Raj Bhat inaugurated the event and lauded the efforts of the employees against the government's decision of declaring the National Pension Scheme (NPS) 'unscientific'. Duty doctor of Bhatkal Taluka hospital Lakshmeesh Naik was the chief guest of the event which was chaired by NPS Sangh Taluka president Ganesh Hegde and appealed to the government to reconsider its stand on the issue. Over 60 government employees donated their blood during the event which was attended by over 150 government employees. Puthuraj, Ishwar Naik, Gayathri Naik, Praveen Kumar Rathod and others were present at the event. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Rizwan Gangavali)
