Imkanglo Zamir is new DC of UK District

Karwar - 17 Jan 2012: Ms Imkanglo Zamir took charge as new deputy commissioner of Uttar Kannada district on Monday. Ms Zamir is the second women to take charge as DC of the district. Ms Zamir, a 2002 batch IAS officer, was working as additional secretary in Karnataka Bhavan New Dehli from 2007. Earlier she was Assistant Commissioner of Tipturu sub division in Tumkur district and later she served as a deputy secretary in finance department. Ms Zamir's husband Vishwesh Negi an Indian Foreign Officer and presently working in Rome, hailing from Nagaland. Ms Zamir did her schooling in Shillong, PU from Bangalore, and graduation and post graduation course from Shriram women's college in New Delhi. She also completed HR diploma in human rights from international law college, New Delhi.

Soon after taking charge as DC, she conducted a meeting of officials and called upon them to implement the government programs sincerely. She would take-up study of the district soon and strive her best to implement the government programs she stated.

On this occasion Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer R J Joshi and additional DC K H Narasimhamurthy were present.
