IDB Scholarship program for meritorious Muslim candidates

New Delhi - 19 April 2011: (Press release) The Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah (IDB), in pursuance of its policy of helping students belonging to Muslim Community around the world, is pleased to announce Scholarships for students from the Muslim Community of India for study in a recognized University/College in their own country. The Scholarship is for the meritorious but financially weak and needy students who intend to seek admission in the academic year 2011-12 in the First Year of the professional degree course in the field of Medicine i.e. MBBS, BDS, Pharmacy, Veterinary, Physiotherapy, Nursing including Bachelors Degree in Unani, Ayurvedic & Microbiology or Engineering (all Branches including Computer and Communications), Agriculture, Bio-Technology, Fisheries, Forestry, Food Technology, Business Administration and Law.

Applications for the scholarship should meet the following requirements:

  1. Have secured minimum 60% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics in SSC (10+2) examination except for Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh,Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu who should have 70% in the aggregate in above four subjects.
  2. Applicants for bachelor courses in BBA + MBA (integrated course) 4 years and LAW have scored minimum 60% marks in English and optional/elective subjects in SSC (10+2).
  3. Age not over 24 years and not in receipt of any other scholarship.
  4. Students or his/her parents are financially weak and unable to pay for his/her education. Students opting for payment seats need not apply.
  5. Students benefiting from this scholarship must undertake to serve his/her community and country on completion of their studies for a period not less than the duration of the scholarship
