Idara Adab Islami's Bhatkal Unit hosts Mushaira

Bhatkal - Local unit of Idara Adab Islami Karnataka & Goa hosted a spectacular Mushaira on Thursday, 23 December at 9:30 pm here at Shams English Medium High School premises located off Jamia Abad Road.

The program was presided over by Mr Syed Abdullah Lanka and attended by galaxy of eminent poets from different parts of Karnataka including Mr Ilyas Rahat (Bangalore), Mr Aslam Banarasi (Bangalore), Mr Mazhar Mohiddin (Hubli), Mr Roshan Khanzade (Shahnur), Dr Qadeer Nazim (Dharwad), Mr Mushtaque Gauhar (Belgaum) and local poets Mr Ashraf Barmavar, Mr Abdul Rahman Batin, Mr Mohammed Ali Parwaz, Mr Abdullah Rafique, Mr Sadique Naveed, Mr Abdul Aleem Shaheen, Dr Mohammed Haneef Shabab, Mr Saifuddin Saif and Mr Salik Barmavar.

The program was started with the recitation of holy Quran followed by its translation by Moulana Azeezur Rahman Ruknuddin. Later Mr Abdul Aleem Shaheen rendered a beautiful Naat and Dr Muhammed Haneef Shabab delivered welcome speech and introduced the guests. The Mushaira was formally started with the singing of Ghazals by two Shams students, Mr Nooh Motesham and Hassan Zuhaib Kharuri.

At the end, organizing committee presented mementos to all the participating poets and the program was concluded past midnight at around 1:00 am with the presidential address of Mr Syed Abdullah Lanka. Large number of Mushaira lovers were present at the venue.
