ICSE results declared: Girls outperform boys

Girls outperformed boys once again with better pass percentages in the Class-X and Class-XII boards exams this year conducted by Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
While the pass rate of students in Class-XII was 97.24%, up by 0.13% from last year, the pass percentage is 98.61 in Class-X which is 0.30% more than last year, the board announced today.
There were 57,487 candidates in Class-XII while 1,22,347 students took the Class-X ICSE exam held in March.
The pass percentage of girls in Class-X was 99.15% against 98.19% of boys. Similarly, the pass rate of girls stands at 98.40% in Class-XII while it is 96.30% in case of boys.
The southern region posted the best result in Class-X with a pass percentage of 99.72%, followed by Western region with a pass percentage of 99.63%.
The Southern region also saw highest percentage of girls ie 48.77% appearing FOR the examination.
Similarly, the Southern region also registered the best pass percentage in Class-XII at 98.28%, followed by Western region with a pass percentage of 97.80%.
The number of girls sitting for the exam was also the highest at 48.65%.
In Delhi and NCR, girls outshone boys in both the exams.
While 98.99% girls cleared the class-X exam, 98.47% boys passed the exam. In Class-XII, the pass percentage of girls is 98.55 as against 98.26 in case of boys.
In all, the pass percentage at Class X stood at 98.72, up by 0.46% while in Class-XII it stood at 98.41, up by 1.53%.
The Board said the marksheets for Class XII will reach the schools on May 19 and for Class X a day later.
