IAF Jaguar crashes, pilot safe

A Jaguar fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed at Shahbad Markanda soon after take off on Thursday afternoon. The pilot, however, managed to eject safely. The aircraft, which took off from Ambala air force station, is learnt to have developed a technical snag and the pilot gave a distress call. The pilot steered the aircraft away from habited areas before ejecting. The aircraft crashed in Linda village around 1.15 p.m. Soon after, a team of Indian Air Force personnel and several other teams reached the crash site. The Superintendent of Police of Kurukshetra, Simardeep Singh, said the pilot suffered injuries but there was no casualty on the ground. The site was secured by police and Air Force personnel for recovery of essential data recorders.   The Hindu
