Bhtakal 16 April 2018 (Bhatkallys News Bureau): Bhatkal MLA and recently announced Congress candidate for upcoming Karnataka assembly elections Mankal Vaidya on Monday visited Bhattagaon locality of Bhatkal on Kidwai road to seek support from residents during the elections. Vaidya visited one of his friend's residence located on Kidwai road where the residents and locals met him on Monday afternoon. Vaidya requested residents to support him and his party during the elections to help them form their government in the state once again. The residents also reminded him of the developmental work that was not completed during his tenure. The MLA then assured the residents of working towards its completion if he comes back to power. When a few residents questioned him if he will approach local socio-political body Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem for support, Vaidya said "I have already written a letter to the body seeking its support in the upcoming elections, and I' am waiting for their response". The support of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem plays an important role in Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency as the Muslim organizations come together under the umbrella organization and vote as per its instructions. It is now interesting to see who bags the support of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem as Inayathullah Shabandri, who the body supported during last assembly election is once again into the race to try his luck in the elections on JD(s) ticket.
