NEW DELHI: Delhi CM and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwalon Friday said that he is an engineer from IIT and can tell 10 ways of tampering with EVMs. "The companies, where chips of EVMs are manufactured, can use virus or bugs or something like that. The EC has no capability to read what the chips contain," he said in an interview to a private TV channel. He blamed EVM tampering for AAP's loss in Punjab and Goa. "Even if AAP wins municipal elections we will continue to demand probe into EVM tampering because it threatens the base of democracy. "Tampered EVMs is a threat to me as well as to you (ruling party)," he said. He said AAP will be ready for re-election using ballot papers even after it wins municipal elections. He said that his opposition to EVMs is based on evidence. "We did not say anything about EVMs when BJP won in Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra," he said. On allegations of corruption on AAP minister Satendra Jain he said, "He has attacked mafias and they will not leave us. Before coming into politics he was a popular architect and earned crores of rupees. He bought some plots in 2007-08. Now they are saying that there were irregularities in the purchase," he said. Kejriwal said that whenever allegations are levelled against his minister he reads all the documents related to the allegations. He claimed that in allegations against Jain there were not even slightest of truth. "I forced my ministers to resign when I found even little evidence against them. I will not leave even my son if he does something wrong," he said. Defending his deputy Manish Sisodia Kejriwal said: "In one case FIR was lodged against Sisodia on the basis of allegations that he did not use the route of tender while awarding contracts to Facebook and Twitter for a programme. Facebook and Twitter are the only companies of their kinds. How can one use tender for it?" he asked. "They got CBI raids conducted in my office but found nothing. They want to break us. They arm-twist opposition parties whose files (reports of backgrounds) they have. But they are unable to arm-twist us, they are not able to break us," he said. The Delhi CM also defended the appointment of Satendra Jain's daughter which has been flagged in Shunglu committee report. "Several graduates with passion to do something for the country come for internship and work, she was one of them," he said. He said that there is no mention of corruption in AAP led government in Shunglu committee report. "The committee repeatedly mentions that the government did not send files to LG. We did not use to send files to LG before we got High Court's directions for it," he said.
Good relations with tanker mafia, education mafia, and electricity mafia would have made life easy for us. "If we took money from the mafia and shared it with Vijender Gupta (leader of opposition) and BJP while digesting the rest, life would have been easy for us," he said.
Kejriwal said the party has done an introspection after defeat in Rajouri Garden by-election and rejected reports of sour relations with party functionary Kumar Viswas.
In a serious allegation against Delhi lieutenant governor Kejriwal said that Raj Niwas has become the base to topple Delhi government or the base of conspiracy against Delhi government. In an interview to a private TV channel Kejriwal alleged that documents were being leaked from LG office to defame his government and suspected that the documents of foods costing Rs 16,000 per plate being used in AAP government function was leaked from LG office.
