Hundreds attend SIO Mumbra's career guidance seminar

Mumbai: On June 9th, 2013, a very Informative and knowledge-oriented Career Guidance Seminar, Counseling and Exhibition was held at Zam-Zam Hall, Mumbra; organized by SIO Mumbra. Inspite of heavy rain on this day a very good response given by people as hundreds of students some along with their guardians attended the seminar to understand and explore their career opportunities and many of them got counseled by the expertise. Program started with the recitation of Holy Quran (Surah Alaq 1-8) followed by its translation in urdu by Br. Aijaz SIO Associate. Er. Waheed Shaikh ( Member of Jamaate Islami Hindi, Mira Road) gave a very good lecture on “Importance of Career”. Initially he thanked to all students and guardian for attending this seminar, further he said, life is too short and we must know what we want to do and in which field we are interested before selecting the career option, this decision of selecting career option must be taken after counseling from a good career counselors. “Our every minute is valuable and we must know thorough details before get into new field. Today there is need of a good doctor, engineer, lawyers and other professionals who can give good service to the society, he added”. “Traditional Career” was the next topic covered by Ziya Momin (Founder of Rehmania Education) he said, getting passed in SSC and HSC is not the success, actual success we will come to know after 7 years. Hence, one should not take traditional career decisions, by doing this we put our career in danger. Further to this, he provided much important information about various fields with emphasizing teaching field is one of the good filed and there is need of a good moral-based teacher to the institutions. Also he provided some information about Architecture, Law, Banking and Finance. “Modern Career”, this topic covered by Aamir Ansari (Vice – Principal of Madni High School and Career Counselor) he shared key information about the new courses, institutes, scholarship available in India, like KVPY, IISTR, CDEC, IIST ( Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) etc. Also detailed information provided relating to medical fields MBBS, BUMS, BDS, BAMS and discussed about entrance exam and percentage criteria of these courses. Next session given by Dr. Kazim Malik (M Sc. Phd and career counselor ) on “Career in Government Sectors” He started the lecture asking students the question about the career, then provided very knowledgeable and informative details about the options available in government sectors, gave details about UPSC and MPSC examination and shared various employment opportunities are available in this sector, State, Central government, Mantralya, Railways, Police etc. candidates are only need to apply to obtain these jobs. At last question and answer session was started in which Aamir Ansari, Dr. Kazim Malik, Asadullah Khan (Unique Classes) were present to answer the questions. Many questions were raised by students and guardian relating to career and satisfactory answers was given by panel and due to lack of time many answers of their questions given individually after end of seminar. Many students were registered online for personal counseling and got counseled by Mustafa Halsangi (Senior Counselor), Dr. Kazim Malik and Aamir Ansari. Detail information about various scholarship schemes provided by central and state Govt. Pre-Meric, Post-Metric and MCM scholarships was given by Afeef Asre (SIO-Memberr using a PPT presentation. He explained all the necessary details and process required to apply for it and the eligibility criteria’s. Br. Ziya ul Islam (SIO web master and SIO Mumbai DAC member) addressed students with an intro of SIO and it activities with the help of photos and clips.
