Human Rights Commission Chairman visits Bhatkal

Bhatkal - 21 Jan 2012: State Human Rights Commission Chairman, Justice S R Naik on Thursday paid a surprise visit to Bhatkal and inspected the working of different Govt Offices in the town. On this occasion he conducted a meeting with Govt officials at Bhatkal Circuit House and asked about the functioning of their respective departments. He also listened the grievances from the public.

Speaking on this occasion, Bhatkal TMC President, Mr Inayatulah Shabandri and Atikaram Horata Samiti President, Mr Rama Moger raised the issue of alleged atrocities of forest officials against poor people living on Atikaram land. After listening the complaints from different departments, he advised not to use unnecessary force in dealing with the poor people, instead try to solve the problem with mutual understanding and cooperation. He said.
