HTC launches Desire P with 4.3-inch WVGA display

There has been a buzz regarding HTC planning to launch a couple of  mid-range smartphones - HTC Desire P and Desire Q. As a matter of fact,  promotional pictures and specifications of both these smartphones were  leaked online a week back. The company has now officially launched HTC Desire P in Taiwan through the telecom operator Chunghwa for about 280  Euros. The HTC Desire P sports a 4.3-inch display with 480x800 (WVGA)  pixels. In terms of looks, this smartphone seems to resemble HTC Desire  SV. For camera, there is an 8-megapixel rear camera shooter and as a  front camera. The smartphone is powered by 1GHz dual-core Cortex-A5  processor processor and Adreno 203 graphics along with 768MB of RAM. HTC Desire P also comes with 4GB of Internal storage, which can be expanded through microSD card slot. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS and  Bluetooth. Like many other HTC smartphones, HTC Desire P also comes with Beats Audio technology on-board. There is no word what version of Android this smartphone will be running on.  Some rumours suggest that HTC Desire P will offer Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box, while the others suggest that it will offer  Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). This smartphone also comes with a layer of  HTC's Sense User Interface. It is expected that this smartphone  will be available in China shortly through China Mobile for  approximately $365. So far there is no word in regards to whether this  smartphone will be available in other markets as well or will it remain  confined only to Taiwan and China. Now that HTC Desire P is  official, one can expect the company to take the wraps off their HTC  Desire Q shortly. HTC Desire Q will be priced roughly for  $235. HTC Desire Q is expected to come with 4-inch screen and also  support Beats Audio technology. Source: NDTV
