Hours After Arrest, Hardik Patel Gets Bail

SURAT:  Hardik Patel, the Patidar community leader who was arrested on Saturday evening for violating prohibitory orders in Gujarat, was released on bail just three hours later by a court in Surat. The 22-year-old tried to take out a protest march in Surat along with his supporters this morning, but was detained by the police. Mr Patel is leading an agitation seeking reservation for the Patel community in Gujarat. Soon after his detention, Internet services were suspended across the state for 24 hours. Mr Patel was denied permission for his 'Ekta Yatra' by the administration on Friday, but he remained adamant saying he would go ahead with the march "at any cost".   NDTV
