Honnavar: Attack on two Bhatkal youth case; BJP Kumta ticket aspirant for Assembly Elections arrested from Delhi

Honnavar 16 March 2018: BJP leader and a prospected candidate of the party in the upcoming assembly elections Suraj Naik Soni was on Friday arrested in Delhi for his alleged involvement in the case pertaining to the attack by Gau Rakshaks on two Bhatkal youth in Honnavar on March 07.
Suraj Naik was arrested by a team of Delhi Police from Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station Delhi.
Suraj is facing charges of Attempt of Murder under the section 307 of Indian Penal Code, he was charged along with 127 right wing activists, when two youths, Nurul Ameen and Gufran, both resident of Bhatkal were attacked by a mob of right wing activists while transporting illegal cattle from Ankola to Bhatkal.
Both the victims were sent to custody after the attack and their bail plea was rejected recently by a local court.
On the other hand the District Police was also quick in getting their hands on some of the accused in the case as the police team had made four arrests within 24 hours of the incident, and the arrest of a prospected BJP candidate in the next elections only showcases the commitment of the District Police and its vigilant attitude towards those trying to disturb the peace in the region.
Uttara Kannada SP, Vinayak Patil had earlier while speaking to Bhatkallys.com had assured people of strict action against those indulging in any acts of taking the law into their hands and those trying to break the laws both.
Suraj Naik had unsuccessfully contested from BJP in the previous assembly election of 2013 from Kumta constituency, and is also in the list of probables in the upcoming assembly elections.
